Farm Animals

What an extremely fun day! I love having moms and kiddos out our home, but today we had an extra special treat at our play date; we had a local family join us who recently started a petting zoo. Click on the picture below to learn more about Redemptive Love Farm and Petting Zoo.

You guessed it, today's theme was farm animals. We started the day with our normal good morning song and book. While we waited for everyone to arrive, we were able to make our own pig tails with a colored pencil and pink pipe cleaner! So simple but yet such a great fine motor practice.

After we sang our song, read our book "Those Loud Animals," and made our pig tails, we headed out to the front yard to make our craft. Today we braved a messy footprint painting craft. Each momma painted their little ones foot or feet in light pink, then pressed it on the paper, and then headed to the kiddy pool to rinse those piggy toes off! They turned out so cute.

Finally it was time to head out back and see the animals! Redemptive Love has the cutest animals and wow what a business they are. Not only is mom great and educated about the animals but the kids know their stuff and will tell you all about the animals and help you pet whatever animal you are interested in.

Last but not least, we sent each momma and kiddo home with an activity bag. Inside the bag were two latex gloves for some "Udderly Art, Milking, and Hay Painting."

It was an awesome playdate! I would like to say one of our best so far. Check back next week for a little baking and yummy cookie ideas!
